Today

The ordinary miracles begin. Somewhere

a signal arrives: Now, and the rays

come down. A tomorrow has come. Open

your hands, lift them: morning rings

all the doorbells; porches are cells for prayer.

~William Stafford

I know I said I would only post once a week but I could not resist this poem when I came across it this morning. May you be open to the ordinary miracles of this day. Enjoy!  ~Donna

Today God’s Name fragment is Story Teller. May we all listen to His Wondrous stories and I pray that I will be more attuned to His stories.

Linda, I love the name “Story Teller!” yes, let’s listen to the story God tells us — that is continually unfolding. I have this image of climbing on God’s lap like a child, and having God enfold us, reading to us.

“I weep with joy at the miracle of a new day.” John, I am touched by your open heart’s response. It encourages me to see the miracle too.

“porches are cells for prayer” – my prayer cell is my sunroom – or sunporch as it may have been called in earlier times, At 5:45 this am I sat with my prayer shawl draped around my shoulders, pulled into the dark that lingered, not wanting to give way to light. I breathed in the glow of Oneness as I held the presence of the moment in contentment, yet expectancy. “I am ready,” was my thought as I moved away from my chair in confidence that I would not take the journey alone.
